Dr. Boe works with individuals primarily ages 7 through college age, as well as young adults and professionals navigating academic, learning, and performance questions.

When should we consider a psychoeducational evaluation?

When something is not adding up. An individual may be working hard but struggling. They may seem capable yet not performing in a way that reflects their potential. There may be questions about learning, attention, executive functioning, anxiety, autism, or whether accommodations are warranted. An evaluation brings those questions into focus.

What does the evaluation process look like?

The process is comprehensive and individualized. Typically several sessions across cognitive, academic, attention, executive functioning, and social-emotional domains, along with input from parents, teachers, and the client themselves. It concludes with a detailed report and a feedback meeting where everything is explained clearly.

How long does it take?

From first conversation to feedback, most evaluations unfold over several weeks. Timing is shaped by scheduling, the complexity of the questions, and the depth of the work involved.

Will I get a diagnosis?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. The goal is not to land on a label. The goal is to understand the whole person, and to translate that understanding into a roadmap clients, families, and schools can use.

Do you work directly with schools?

Yes. Collaboration with teachers, learning specialists, and administrators is a core part of the work. Findings only matter if they reach the people in the client's day-to-day life.

Do you offer remote evaluations?

Yes. Dr. Boe's offices are in Los Angeles, and she continues to work remotely with a long-established client base in the San Francisco area. Portions of the evaluation, including intake, interviews, collaboration, and feedback, are well suited to remote work, and the process is structured so distance does not compromise the depth of the assessment.

Do you offer accommodations support for standardized tests?

Yes. Evaluations are designed to meet the documentation standards required by the College Board, ACT, and similar bodies, with recommendations written clearly enough for schools and testing organizations to act on.

What about re-evaluations or second opinions?

Both are part of the practice. Re-evaluations capture how a client has grown and how supports need to evolve. Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs) are available when a second, independent perspective is needed.

How are fees structured?

Evaluations are flat-rate, scoped to the questions being brought in. Fees are discussed during the initial inquiry conversation so there are no surprises.

Do you take insurance?

The practice does not bill insurance directly. A superbill can be provided to submit for out-of-network reimbursement where applicable.

Do you offer ongoing support after the evaluation?

Yes. Many clients stay connected for years, through siblings, school transitions, re-evaluations, and the questions that come up over time.
